FRIENDS SUPPORT CHILDRENS LITERACY
2010 was another record-breaking year for Knox County Public Library's Summer Reading Club. With the Friends of the Knox County Public Library's help:
* 9,558 children reached their reading goals, a 12% increase from 2009
* 1,044 teens reached their reading goals, a 36% increase from 2009
* A whopping 16,743 children and their family members attended summer reading programs at the Library.

By sponsoring Summer Reading Club, the Friends of the Knox County Public Library encourage Knox County children to develop a lasting love of reading and motivate them to keep up their hard-earned literacy skills throughout summer break.
