Share the joy of reading!

Help Friends of the Library and Knox County Public Library collect new or like-new children’s books to include in holiday baskets from the Knoxville News Sentinel Empty Stocking Fund (ESF).

Be a part of this year’s campaign to collect enough books to ensure that every child receives a new book this holiday season!

  • Collect gift-quality books. For some children, their ESF books and gifts will be the only ones they receive. Please note that we cannot accept Imagination Library books as donations.
  • Drop off your book donations at any Knox County Public Library branch or at Union Ave Books.
  • Help us expand our reach by organizing a book drive in a group in your community (e.g., Scouts, book club, church, neighborhood association).
  • Let us do your shopping for you! Make a tax-deductible donation online using the link below, or mail a check to Friends at 500 W. Church Ave., Knoxville, TN 37902.

We especially need board books for infants and toddlers (ages 0–2) and books for middle and high schoolers. Spanish-language and bilingual books are also needed. Graphic novels are popular with all ages.

The holiday book drive extends through Monday, November 19. If you have ideas for a group book drive, please let us know at 865.215.8775 or info@knoxfriends.org, and we’ll help you arrange it and promote your efforts!

With your help, we can bring smiles to the faces of children all over Knox County with the gift of reading.
